2025 Round One: Ruarangi Road Rallysprint
11 May @ 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Northland Car Club is set to bring high-speed gravel action back to Ruarangi Road, Mangapai, on May 11, 2025. This 8km stretch of undulating road is infamous in rally circles for its blind crests and technical challenges. It’s been compared to Finland’s 1000 Lakes WRC Rally—fast, furious, and demanding full commitment from those who take it on. Some drivers love it, others fear it.
Competitors will get a recce and four timed runs to determine overall and class placings. With around 40 teams expected from across Te Ika-a-Māui, the mix of seasoned pros and hungry rookies is sure to put on a show.
Spectators can watch for free from designated viewing points and check out the cars and crews during service breaks. The first cars hit the stage between 10:00 and 10:30 AM.
Entries will open online soon. Documentation closes at 9 AM, so competitors should ensure they’re club members before the event and have their licenses, club membership, and entry fees sorted.
The challenge is set. Who will conquer Ruarangi Road?
